Erin Dwyer & James Roy, Jr.
Location: Couples Swept Away
Jim and Erin had a few chance meetings over a span of a year and a half. The first time Erin met Jim was 311Day. She know she wanted to get to know Jim more, but he was in a relationship at the time. It seemed like fate was trying to get them to meet again. She saw him at a friend's birthday party...at another friend's birthday...then what's really weird is they ran into each other in of all places Grand Isle. Though their brief meetings did not spark any interest, they had a feeling it would one day happen. Dawn invites Erin to go to Mardi Gras in New Olreans with a few friends. Erin gets to Dawn and Alan's house and is waiting for everyone to show up (Jim and Chris). When Jim walked through the door, Erin knew he was the one. They ended up hanging out together the whole night...and the whole next day. Dawn knew they both liked each other, but were too scared to do anyting about it. So Dawn took it upon herself to give Jim Erin's phone number. The next Monday, Erin found her a house. It was a very interesting week. Erin met a great guy and found a house in the same week. That Tuesday Erin, Jim and some friends went to Mardi Gras in New Roads. Jim invited her to go out to dinner for that Wednesday. But when Erin called Jim to make plans for that night, Jim gave her the cold shoulder (he said he couldn't go because he had to go back to Madisonville). Erin and Jim went on their first date on that Friday. They went to eat sushi at a hole-in-the-wall kind of place in Madisonville. Erin and Jim had to overcome two major obstacles. They lived in two different cities (an hour away from each other). Jim worked off-shore. He worked 28 days on and two weeks off. So they would spend every chance they could together. Erin commuted back and forth from Madisonville to Baton Rouge in the mornings to go to work and then go back to Madisonville at night. She didn't spend very much time at her new house. After a six months of this arrangement, they both knew it was time to make a change. Jim quit his job and moved to Baton Rouge. They have two dogs (Willie and Callie).
The couple talked about marriage early on in their relationship. They knew they didn't want a big wedding. They both love the water and taking trips, so they decided to have a destination wedding. They decided on Couples Swept Away, Negril, Jamacia because it was beautiful and all-inclusive. They didn't want to have to plan anything (they wanted to just show up at their wedding). The resort takes care of everything. They can't wait for their wedding day. They want to thank all of their guests who will be joining them in paradise. The wedding will be May 22nd at 4 pm. The reception will follow.
Please RSVP by Feb. 18th. If you have any questions, please call 225-721-5003.
